Evanston History Center's Annual Mother's Day House Walk
Evanston, IL. -- Join us in celebrating 44 years of Evanston history and architecture. The Evanston History Center (EHC) presents the Annual Mother’s Day House Walk on Sunday, May 12, 2019, rain or shine. This year’s House Walk recognizes the many notable architects whose exceptional houses define the Lakeshore Historic District. Houses will be open from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This year’s House Walk is generously supported by the event’s Platinum Sponsor, Evanston Community Bank & Trust, a member of the Wintrust Family, and the event’s Gold Sponsor, the Tawani Foundation, Silver Sponsors, Paul Janicki Architects and American Vintage Home.
This year’s House Walk features 5 historically and architecturally significant houses in southeast Evanston, the neighborhood surrounding the former home of the Dawes family and current headquarters of the Evanston History Center. Each house has a fascinating story to tell of architectural development, the neighborhood, and Evanston history. The Dawes House will also be open to ticket holders 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Visitors to the Dawes House will be able to view the Evanston History Center’s exhibits, including, “Evanston 1968: Seasons of Change.”
