About Us

The YWCA Evanston/North Shore is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity.

It's what we are about and what we intend to do. Our mission connects us to our past, informs our present, and guides us into the future.

With a unique focus on women and girls in our community, for over 60 years the YWCA Evanston/North Shore has made a difference in the lives of women, children, and families by:

• working to end domestic violence against women and children
• nurturing women's economic advancement
• fostering racial, gender and economic equity
• empowering youth through swimming

100% of profits from our two women's resale shops support our work
• YWCA Crowded Closet, 820 Dempster Street, Evanston
• YWCA Shop for Good, 1107 Central Avenue, Wilmette

We empower thousands of individuals to transform their lives and make our communities more just and equitable for all its members.
