About Us
Warren W. Cherry Preschool is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian early childhood program, proudly independent and governed by parents. Established in 1992 by a group of dedicated parents and early childhood educators, the preschool was created to meet the evolving needs of young children in the community. Named in honor of Warren W. Cherry, a beloved educator and community leader in Evanston, our school continues his legacy of nurturing young minds and hearts. Our schedules are flexible and can be tailored to accommodate the individual needs of each child and family.
Our mission is to foster the holistic development of young children by providing a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment that encourages growth across all areas—social, emotional, physical, and intellectual. We recognize and celebrate the unique personality, culture, needs, abilities, and learning style of every child. Our staff and parents work hand in hand to create an environment where children can thrive, feeling valued for who they are. Our educational philosophy and anti-bias curriculum are centered on nurturing each child’s individual strengths while fostering a love of learning.
