What is Long-Term Care Insurance? And more importantly, Why should I care?
I had heard about long-term care insurance from both my father and my in-laws. And I figured it was something for old people. Something you had to be at least 75 years old to look into. And then I met my friend Jen Winterburn and realized I needed to know about it sooner rather than later. And then I realized that other people probably need to know about what it is, too.
So, Jen and I are putting together a seminar about what long-term care insurance is, what it covers and when someone should start looking into it. I've also asked a friend from Symphony in Evanston (post acute care and rehabilitation) to join us and give us an insiders view about what a typical private insurance or Medicare covers for a stay in a nursing home or memory care facility.
Yes, I know, exciting stuff for a Saturday morning! Consider it our contribution to making sure you live a long and comfortable life without fear of running out of money in the process.
