Erlene Howard is the founder and owner of Evanston-based Collective Resource Compost. She started the business 10 years ago and feels very lucky to have work that aligns with her values. She is presenting with her employee and zero waste consultant Mary Beth Schaye who is celebrating her 9th anniversary of working with her today.
Hal Sprague is an environmental lawyer who practiced 3 years at the USEPA in Philadelphia, 5 years at a major law firm in Hartford, Connecticut, and then 14 years here in Illinois at Abbott Laboratories. He then worked for 11 years as a policy advocate at the Center for Neighborhood Technology in Chicago. He has been on the board of Citizens’ Greener Evanston and its predesessor organization for over 15 years, and is just finishing a year a President of CGE. In February, Hal began working at Trajectory Energy Partners as Community Solar Coordinator.
Rachel Rosner, a life-long Evanstonian, is a Climate Reality Leader and Mentor, trained by Al Gore. She serves on the boards of Citizens' Greener Evanston and Wild Onion Market, an up and coming food co-op. Rachel is a former classroom teacher, now an environmental educator, activist and organizer. Most recently she was the Executive Administrator at Collective Resource, where she hopes to return when the Corona crisis passes. She is currently a curriculum consultant with EvanSTEM's Climate Action Project, for 6th graders.
