Roots & Rock Session II
Designed for anyone who has been inspired by music and wants to play, the Music Institute of Chicago’s Roots & Rock classes explore America’s great musical contributions across a broad landscape that includes rock, folk, blues, country, bluegrass, and more. Discover the common roots shared by this music, build a solid musical foundation, and make your own musical voice heard.
Beginning and intermediate level classes in GUITAR, SONGWRITING, and MUSIC PRODUCTION are led by some of the area’s most seasoned performers and teachers. Eight-week sessions designed for those new to playing or those with modest experience dig into the rich history and culture behind the music while nurturing your own musical growth. Participate on an ongoing basis and progress at the pace most comfortable for you.
Roots & Rock classes offer a friendly and comfortable social backdrop as you build and expand your musical skills. Make music and friends as your musicianship and confidence grow. Each session culminates with cafe style performances at area venues.
