Holiday Open House at the Evanston History Center
The Evanston History Center (EHC) will open the doors its National Landmark Charles Gates Dawes House to the community in celebration of the holidays. The EHC’s Annual Holiday Open House will take place Sunday, December 8, 2019, from 2pm-4pm. This annual favorite features live music, holiday treats, crafts for kids, and the opportunity to explore the majestic lakeside mansion decked out for the holidays. The event is entirely free and open to everyone.
This year marks the EHC’s 14th Annual Food Drive, conducted in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The food collected in the drive will go directly to an Evanston food pantry to benefit area residents.
Food Drive Hours: Donations of nutritious, non-perishable food (no glass, please) will be accepted at the Dawes House, 225 Greenwood St., Thursday-Sunday, December 5-8 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. each day. Please consider donating to this important cause.
Holiday Open House Schedule:
2:00-4:00 pm: Piano Music by Chris Mathieu in the Dawes Library
2:00 4:00 pm: Exhibits open and house open for self-guided tours. Docents will be stationed throughout the house to answer questions.
