Evanston History Center's Annual Ice Cream Social

The Evanston History Center hosts its family-friendly, summer favorite event: the Annual Ice Cream Social, taking place on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM (Rain or Shine). The event will be held at the Dawes House, 225 Greenwood Street, Evanston, IL 60201. This event is free and open to everyone.
Join us for an afternoon of summer fun! Come listen to music from the Ridgeville Band on the grounds of the Dawes House, watch Kevin Kelly’s hilarious and entertaining magic show, have a tasty treat, courtesy of Evanston’s own YoFresh Yogurt Café, and much more!* This is a summer favorite for kids and adults and it is entirely free!

Event Schedule:
 
12PM-2PM: Evanston’s “Let’s Play Trailer” will be onsite. The trailer features engaging games and activities for children ages 3 to 12 years old.
1PM-2PM: The Ridgeville Band.
2PM-3PM: Kevin Kelly’s Magic Show (followed by a rabbit meet-and-greet!)
1PM-3PM: Dawes House open for self-guided tours. (Groups of 4 or more children must be accompanied by an adult to enter the house.) EHC’s new exhibit, “Dry Evanston: The Untold Story” will be open to visitors.

WHERE: 225 Greenwood Street, Evanston, IL 60201 (The Evanston History Center in the Charles Gates Dawes House).
 
LOCATION: The Evanston History Center is housed in the national landmark, Charles Gates Dawes House at 225 Greenwood, Evanston, IL 60201. We are located half an hour north of Chicago's Loop, and we are accessible by public transportation. Free parking is available on the street.
 
Car: Take either 94 or 294 to Dempster Street and go east. Greenwood Street is one block north of Dempster Street.
Train: Take CTA to Dempster Street or Metra to Davis Street, and go east. (Davis Street is a few blocks north of Greenwood.)
 
*Tickets for frozen yogurt will be handed out on a first come, first served basis. Yogurt will be handed out (one serving per guest) while supplies last.
