Empowering Small Businesses Workshop: Mastering Digital Marketing – Social Media & LinkedIn Best Practices
The Evanston Chamber of Commerce, City of Evanston and Evanston Community Bank & Trust have partnered together to host a series of free workshops designed for Evanston’s small business owners and entrepreneurs. The series, titled “Empowering Small Businesses,” features five sessions focused on varied topics, and each workshop will feature presentations by different, local experts. Participants are welcome to come to all of the workshops in the series, or to pick and choose the sessions and topics that are most applicable for you!
All workshops take place at Evanston Community Bank & Trust, located at 901 Grove St., from 9:00-10:30am on every Wednesday in October. Coffee and light bites provided.
Workshop Two:
“Mastering Digital Marketing – Social Media & LinkedIn Best Practices” features two presenters who will help you navigate and make the most of the digital marketing landscape. Attendees of this workshop will learn about two important topics:
- Proactive Social Media & Digital Management, presented by Patricia J. Pickett, APR of Pickett&Associates, LLC
- LinkedIn 101 for Businesses – How to Grow Quickly & Exponentially, presented by Anna Kate Anderson
Meet the Presenters – Patricia J. Pickett, APR:
Patricia J. Pickett, APR founded Pickett&Associates, LLC in 2010 after working for two Indianapolis-based marketing firms as a senior account manager and PR specialist; prior to that she served as a reporter, editor and publisher for numerous publications for more than two decades. She holds an accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America (APR), a distinction held by approximately 5,000 of the country’s estimated 270,000 public relations professionals. She attained her accreditation in strategic healthcare marketing from the Society for Health Care Strategy & Market Development.

Meet the Presenters – Anna Kate Anderson:
Anna Kate Anderson is an Evanston entrepreneur who loves helping others communicate their strengths and build their businesses. She provides LinkedIn training for consultants, businesses, & outplacement services during restructures and layoffs. She also works with executives to help them communicate their unique leadership style on their résumés and LinkedIn profiles. In business for 7 years, Anna Kate has a background in higher education both at Northwestern and UIC. Originally from North Carolina (go Tar Heels!) she's been in Evanston for 20 years. She and her family love being at the lake, traveling, and everything Marvel.
