Evanston Community Television (ECTV)
Evanston Community Media Center (now Evanston Community Television) (ECTV) was formed for the purpose of developing maximum community involvement in and use of cable television and other media technologies for cultural, educational, health, social service, civic, community and other non-profit purposes; and administering the use of public access channels in the cable communication system/s in the city of Evanston. A non-profit public access television station, ECTV provides Evanston and neighboring communities with a means of expression through ComCast Cable Channels 6, 16 and 19; through AT&T U-verse's ''Local Government, Education and Public Access'' menu; and via the Internet, ECTV channels are streamed worldwide on www.ectv.com. ECTV and its channels of distribution are specifically designated as non-commercial (we are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization), and its participants encourage and support the concept of community television; programming by local people for local viewers, enabling diverse constituencies to understand and utilize cable television and other media technologies. We operate a state-of-the-art facility with advanced multi-media technologies, including a full-service studio, green screen technology, recording studio, editing stations and an audio suite. We offer training in all facets of camera, editing and film production, as well as production services to businesses/organizations.
